Reminiscent of the frames of a black & white filmstrip, the series cinephile offers a more complex narrative than a single photograph. Still, they intentionally leave more to the imagination than the constant stream of video we encounter in modern life. Inspired by a lifelong interest in the careful design of classic films, each work conveys the atmosphere of a few moments in time. These triptychs intend to mimic how the mind's eye remembers a slice of time, more so than to strictly document reality.
